I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE polka dots!  You woulda' never guessed huh?  Well, for Christmas, my Mother made these beautiful curtains for my closet.  I just LOVE them!  I haven't had any curtains or doors for my closet.  Ya, I know.  But didn't they turn out perfect?   She didn't even measure!

This year for VBS we learned about the Virtuous Woman.  Trying to figure out a way to decorate for this was somewhat difficult, so Dixie and I put our heads together and decided to do pink and black with polka dots and zebra.  I think it turned out rather well, don't you think.  The girls liked it so much we decided to leave it all up.  This was so easy to decorate for.  A lot of the things we already had.  Notice the shoes?  They're mine.  The hats?  Dixie's.  The jewelry, nail polish, lotion, make-up, scarves, flowers and most of the gift bags we already had as well.  Dixie made the blocks with our initials on them (on the top shelf) and she made the nail polish, shoe and purse cut-outs with the zebra paper (on the bottom shelf).

 

Dixie made these beautiful curtains below.  I made the pink "canvas" with the polka dots and flower on it.

  

These are more canvases that I made and the Bible verses throughout the room I printed off the computer.
The big pink thing is supposed to be a vanity.  This was rather easier than I thought.  I used the fireplace that our Dad and brother made for us for our Western VBS and covered it with pink wrapping paper.  I then used aluminum foil for the "mirror" and put ribbon around it.  The things on top are all things that Dixie and I already had.

The big pink and black zebra square is supposed to be a photo board.  I used the left over fabric from the curtains and hot glued it to a cork board.  The door is decorated with zebra wrapping paper.  All of the polka dot's throughout the room, we cut out of pink and black construction paper.  A bit of a time consumer, but it definitely filled a bunch of empty space!

The pink end table was only $10 at Hobby Lobby, so I had to get it.  A great addition to our classroom. 

We did all of this with less than $75!  We wanted to make sure that everyone knew that our Sunday School room was a teen girls room.  So what do you think, did we succeed?

5 FAVORITE THINGS THIS WEEK!

So, here are a few of our favorite things: 

  

1.  Celebrating Dottie's birthday last Wednesday!  It was a truly special day.  My family made me feel so loved and special!  They spoiled me!  I wish I had pictures of everything to share with y'all, but I don't.  :(

2.  This absolutely scrumptiously, delish peanut butter pie Dixie made for my b'day.  It's her own recipe and let me tell you, it was amazing!  Layers of peanut butter, with mini Reese's and chocolate crust, topped with more mini Reese's, chocolate syrup and whipped cream.  One word:  YUM!!!!!!!

   

  

You can stop drooling now!  :)

3.  These awesome polka dot streamers I found at Hobby Lobby.  They come in black n white, red n white, pink n white and another color, but I can't remember.  Sadly, I didn't get them.  Why?  I have not a clue!  I probably end up buying one of these days! :)  They just make me happy! :)

     

4.  This adorable coffee rug my brother gave me for my b'day.  Doesn't it look so real?  Can't you just smell the lovely aroma of the coffee? :)

  

5.  All of the other amazing gifts that my family and friends gave me.  I'll just list them since I don't have pictures.

So, here are a few of our favorite things:

 

1. I always enjoy reading my Bible, but this verse, as well as others, really spoke to me."

(The cross is one my Mother made for me!)

2.  Homemade (mini) taco salads with homemade chili!  Happiness on a plate!  :) 

 

3.  Laughing with my family!  And when we laugh, we laugh!  =)

  

4.  Looking forward to going out with my fun family later.  We're thinkin' Bob Evans!  We may go shopping afterwards too!  Family, food and shopping, can't beat that!  :)

 

 5. My new A-dorable bag!  LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! :)

3.  Watching Christmas cartoons on ABC.

2.  Celebrating our Daddy's b'day!  Yes, we had another birthday!  Told you it was busy 'round here! 

 

3. Went to a party shop and loved their Halloween balloons.  Notice the orange polka dot balloons?  Yep, that's why I love 'em!

   

4.  This cute Volunteer display in McDonald's! And of course, I enjoyed a large Diet Dr. Pepper!  :)  Mm.  Mm. !
