<strong style="background: transparent; border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">The police say the woman was a murderer. Emilie Wesley knows they can’t be talking about her client . . . can they?</strong></div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "Century Gothic", CenturyGothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
To the world it seems obvious: Kaylene Adams killed her daughter and then was shot by police. Attorney Emilie Wesley knows a different story: Kaylene would never hurt anyone and was looking for a way out of a controlling, abusive relationship. Her death shakes Emilie’s belief that she can make a difference for women in violent marriages. Self-doubt plagues her as she struggles to continue her work in the wake of the tragedy.</div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "Century Gothic", CenturyGothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
Reid Billings thought he knew his sister—right up until he learned how she died. He discovers a letter from Kaylene begging him to fight for custody of her daughters if anything should happen to her. No attorney in her right mind would support an uncle instead of the father in a custody case, but Kaylene’s letter claims Emilie Wesley will help him.</div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "Century Gothic", CenturyGothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
Thrown together in a race to save Kaylene’s surviving daughter, Emily and Reid pursue the constantly evasive truth. If they can hang on to hope together, can they save a young girl—and find a future for themselves in the process?</div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "Century Gothic", CenturyGothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; text-align: center; vertical-align: baseline;">

<strong style="background: transparent; border: 0px; font-size: 14.4px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">A brave midwife. A wounded pilot. A risky secret.</strong></div>

In the midst of World War II, Ireland has declared herself neutral. Troops found on Irish soil must be reported and interned, no matter which side they are fighting for. When midwife Nan O’Neil finds a wounded young Canadian pilot at her door, she knows she’s taking a huge risk by letting him in. Not only is she a widow living alone, but if caught harboring a combatant, she’ll face imprisonment.<br /><br />Still, something compels Nan to take in “flyboy” Dutch Whitney, an RAF pilot whose bomber has just crashed over County Clare. While she tends to his wounds and gives him a secret place of refuge, the two begin to form a mutual affection—and an unbreakable bond.</div>

But Nan has another secret, one that has racked her with guilt since her husband’s death and made her question ever loving again. As Nan and Dutch plan his escape, can he help restore her faith?</div>

This World War II novel puts things into a different perspective because it takes place in Ireland. Sometimes we seem to forget that World War II literally affected the world. While there were some good aspects in this book, there were things in this book that wasn't necessary. There should not be so much sensuality in a Christian fiction book. Also, the men were a bit weak and silly. </div>

<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "Century Gothic", CenturyGothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
<strong style="background: transparent; border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">How many times today have you been irritated? Frustrated?</strong></div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "Century Gothic", CenturyGothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
While you might not think about it often, if you look closely at any day most everyone can find anger in their actions and attitudes. Something spills or goes missing, we get stuck in traffic or someone cuts us off on the road, or we feel like the people we live and work with are only making our lives more difficult. And while no one wants to get angry, what happens when our irritations and frustrations rise yet again?</div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "Century Gothic", CenturyGothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
Anger is so common—yet it also hurts. It not only leaves a mark on us, but it also leaves a marks on others. The wounds we inflict on ourselves and others because of anger—loss of intimacy, trust, security, and enjoyment in our closest relationships—give us compelling reasons to look closely at our anger and think carefully about how to grow in peace and patience.</div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "Century Gothic", CenturyGothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
But if you, like many others, have just gotten irritated for the umpteenth time today, you might wonder if change is possible. Can anyone truly find peace? The answer is yes, but you will need a plan. Biblical counselor and psychologist Ed Welch invites readers to take a fifty-day journey that unpacks anger while encouraging and teaching readers to respond with patience to life’s difficulties. Readers will also be introduced to Jesus, the key to any plan for change. Known as the Prince of Peace, he is the only one who can empower his people to grow in patience, peace, and wholeness.</div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "Century Gothic", CenturyGothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; text-align: center; vertical-align: baseline;">

Big things come in small packages. This little book is filled with a lot of insight that is very much needed. We all struggle with anger and being impatient. This book helps put things into perspective and teaches how to better handle anger.</div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "Century Gothic", CenturyGothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; text-align: center; vertical-align: baseline;">

In the biggest case of her career, attorney Kate Sullivan is tapped as lead counsel to take on Mason Pharmaceutical because of a corporate cover-up related to its newest drug. After a whistleblower dies, Kate knows the stakes are much higher than her other lawsuits.</div>

<strong style="background: transparent; border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">This Christmas, there’s plenty of room at the inn.</strong></div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "Century Gothic", CenturyGothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
Nestled in the snow-covered Sangre de Cristo Mountains near Santa Fe, the Grey Sage Inn looks like the perfect place for weary travelers to escape the craziness of the Christmas season. There’s plenty to see in historic Santa Fe during the day, and the inn’s owners, Maude and Silas Thornhill, are happy to spend their evenings hosting this year’s guests from across the country.</div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "Century Gothic", CenturyGothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
But an unusual snowstorm throws a wrench in the festive mood. The sprawling inn becomes close quarters as stranded guests discover this Christmas won’t be the relaxing vacation they expected. Tension and fear mount as the storm worsens, and Silas, a retired doctor, is called away in the middle of the night to care for a neighbor. The snow and stress unlocks tongues–and in the unexpected conversation that follows, secrets and pasts are revealed, and hearts are healed.</div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "Century Gothic", CenturyGothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
In the midst of snowdrifts and fireside conversations, of tales of days gone by, the warmth of Christmas brings a renewed hope as these trapped strangers become friends–proof again that the joy, hope, peace, and love of Christmas can be experienced no matter where you are.</div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "Century Gothic", CenturyGothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; text-align: center; vertical-align: baseline;">

In the bustle of the Christmas season, it can be easy to get swept up in all of the things to do. But it’s important to pause and remember that our priority should be to spend time celebrating Christ’s birth and not forget to invite Jesus to his own party.</div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "Century Gothic", CenturyGothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
Christmas is far more than a celebration of an event from long ago or a modern holiday centered around shopping. Mindfully take time to listen to how God continues to speak through the Christmas story as the Gospel narratives centered around the birth of Jesus provide encouragement and revelation concerning the love of God and his wisdom for us today.</div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "Century Gothic", CenturyGothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
In <em style="background: transparent; border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Total Christmas Makeover</em>, author and Bible teacher Melissa Spoelstra provides a practical approach for you and your family to turn your attention toward God’s grace day-by-day as you prepare for Christmas. This 31-day devotional presents key scriptures, ideas to implement with each reading, and questions for reflection to guide you in rediscovering rituals, relationship, and rest to connect you more deeply with Christ this holiday season.</div>

Each section gives something to think about, questions to ponder and a practical approach to change your Christmas into a more meaningful season. I liked the suggestion about taking the Christmas cards as they come in and praying for the people who sent them, My major complaint about this book is not using scripture from the King James Bible. I don't understand why people use other so-called bibles, instead of the one true inspired Word of God. They claim they can understand them better, but to me they make things more confusing and they are changing the meaning of God's Word to suit themselves. What I like about this book is its purpose is to have a more meaningful Christmas and not one that is focused on the commercial side of Christmas. </span></div>

Set in the Smoky Mountain community of Gutter Gap Catherine Marshall shares with us the story of her mother Leonora Wood, who at the tender young age of 19, left home to teach the mountain children. In doing so she forever changed her life and the lives of others.</div>

Although based on a young woman's life, Christy is a work of fiction, with both fact and fiction woven in together. </div>

Mountain people are proud as well as superstitious and they don't trust outsiders, and they don't trust each other. A "blood feud" is also involved and threatens to disrupt her classroom. The novel takes place in the year 1912, but times in Cutter Gap have not caught up to the outside world, so Christy also has physical hardships as well. Can Miss Huddleston see beyond their poverty and fierce clan-like nature and break down the barriers so she can help the people she has come to love? Also, two men are vying for her affections, the Preacher, and the Doctor, who was born and raised in the mountains and endeavors to help Christy understand his people. </div>

This is a beautiful 50th-anniversary copy of this delightful book. It has a map of all the important places in Cutter Gap in the front. Also a compiled list of the characters and a short relationship they have with each other. I would like to find out how much of this story is not fiction. Don't expect the book to be like the television series. There are some vast differences in places and at times it follows the book closely.</div>

The King James Bible Know the Word Study Bible is a very helpful and insightful study Bible. The explanations are very informative without being overwhelming. Of course, the Holy Spirit will always help you understand if we just ask Him. By using this Bible, it will help you to actually study God's Word instead of just reading it. II Timothy 2:15 <span style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif; text-align: center;">“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”</span><span style="color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif; font-size: 28px; text-align: center;"> </span></div>

Mia, an American Christian, has lived in Sudan so long that persecution, harassment, and danger have become commonplace for her. Her tough outer shell threatens to harden her heart while her newly Christian friends, Halimah and Rania, former Muslims, are forced to live in exile outside Sudan. All three quickly discover that escaping danger in one place only means facing even greater challenges elsewhere. As God’s mercy becomes evident in their lives, they must choose whether or not to offer mercy to those who don’t deserve it.</div>

Third in a trilogy, <em style="background: transparent; border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Mercy Triumphs</em> opens the reader’s eyes to modern-day persecution and the life of Muslims in Sudan. Based on real-life events, <em style="background: transparent; border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Mercy Triumphs</em> reveals some of the struggles Christians face when living under Islamic law. The reader will be inspired to pray for new believers, those who are persecuted for their faith, and even for the salvation of the persecutors.</div>

"Mercy Triumphs" is definitely a different read, but the story is still compelling. We can never be reminded enough of how God can do the impossible. Not only that, but we should also believe that He can do the impossible! This book may be fiction, but it still provides great truths that we can all learn from.</div>

<strong style="background: transparent; border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Everyone loves to receive a gift.</strong></div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "Century Gothic", CenturyGothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
And God has given us many, such as his grace—the gift we don’t deserve and can never earn. Promises from the One who declares we are already loved, already accepted, already created in his image. The question becomes, will we truly receive that gift? Will the reality of it actually change the way we think and notice and reach out?</div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "Century Gothic", CenturyGothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
God’s Word will stand forever, in any season of life. These truths prompt us to respond with compassion and courage.</div>

Through inspiring devotions, Lucinda Secrest McDowell reveals biblical blessings that remind us that: God’s promises give us strength, God’s grace can be most evident at our weakest points, a proper response to our abundance of blessings is simply gratitude, and the “more” we are all looking for is the same abundant life that Jesus came to give us.</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Life is filled with choices. We have a bazillion choices that we have to make every single day. What to wear. What to eat. What to drink. What to say. When to say it. What to think. What to do. The list goes on and on. Some decisions involve other people, most do not. But there is one choice we have that will not only affect us today but tomorrow and for the rest of our lives. This decision will not only affect us but those around us. We will actually face this decision multiple times a day. These <i>God-given opportunities </i>come when life is hard. They also come when life is easy. How we handle life's peaks and valley's is completely up to us.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In April of this year, the doctors discovered that my dad had colon cancer. Yep. The dreaded "C" word. Were we scared? You bet! Were we afraid? Absolutely! But we had two choices. <i>We could either worry, or we could pray.</i> We could worry ourselves sick over what was to become of our dad and his illness, or we could cast it on the One Who had the ability to remove his sickness. We could live in fear of tomorrow, or we could trust the One Who holds tomorrow. We could blame God, or we could cling to Him.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So what do you do when life is too much for you to handle? When you're overwhelmed with situations that are beyond your control. What do you do when the bank account glares back at you in an angry shade of red? How do you handle a broken heart, disappointment, shattered dreams? How do you take that next step?</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-style: italic;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>You can either worry about it or you can pray about it.</i></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You can pray to God Almighty, Who has your best interests at heart, or you can worry about it, which is like sitting in a rocking chair. It gives you something to do, but it doesn't get you anywhere. Worry doesn't prevent disaster, it prevents prayer! It does nothing but steals your joy!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So why not let's take it to God in prayer? Take it to the One Who is trustworthy. Take it to the One Whom you need not doubt. Tell it to the One Who already has the answer and knows the outcome.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Share it with the One Who loves you unconditionally - for always and forever, no matter what! <i>Jeremiah 31:3 "...Yea, have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with thy lovingkindness have I drawn thee."</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Cast it upon the One Who cares for you! <i>I Peter 5:7 "Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you." </i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Cry out to the One Who is always ready and waiting to listen. Someone Who hears even the faintest of prayers, the ones you can't even put into words because your heart is so heavy. <i>Isaiah 59:1 "Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:"</i></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-style: italic;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If we prayed about the things that concern us as much as we worried about them, we'd have a lot less to worry about. So let's turn our worry lists into prayer lists.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Don't stress about it. <u>Pray about it.</u></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="text-decoration-line: underline;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<u>GOD'S GOT THIS!</u></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt=".Jeremiah 31:33 How is God’s law written in hearts? When a person loves God’s law so much that he has a fervent desire to do Jehovah’s will, it can be said that God’s law is written in his heart." src="https://i.pinimg.com/564x/b2/06/0a/b2060a8ceca539cdb67801993db25a58.jpg" /></div>

<strong style="background: transparent; border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">What if, in this waiting, God is calling us to more?</strong></div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "century gothic"; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
It’s easy to believe God when a promise is new. It’s hard when the years pass and nothing changes. It’s even harder when desperation strikes, your plans backfire, and still God does not fill the emptiness. But what if, in this waiting, God is calling us to more?</div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "century gothic"; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
Join author Marlo Schalesky on a unique, contemplative journey to reveal the wonder that is often missed when we find ourselves struggling to wait well. Walking through the life of the biblical character Sarah, one who knows what it means to wait, you will discover a glimpse of God’s character that will give you strength to keep hoping and praying for the desires of your heart.</div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "century gothic"; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">
<em style="background: transparent; border: 0px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Waiting for Wonder</em> is a journey into the heart of God where you will wrestle with personal questions, think deeply about God’s true character, and learn to appreciate His divine work as you discover your own path to the promised land. Recapture your hope, restore your soul, and renew your vision of a wondrous Savior when you learn to live on God’s time.</div>
<div style="background: rgb(255, 255, 255); border: 0px; color: #5e5e5e; font-family: "century gothic"; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.2em; outline: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 1em; vertical-align: baseline;">

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Marlo's Schalesky take on Sarah's story is so original. I loved reading how she imagined the way Sarah felt and what she was going through. There were many things I learned from reading this book. "Waiting for Wonder" was exactly what I needed, as I am in a period of waiting myself! I was encouraged and strengthened by reading this book and allowing God to use it to teach me. </div>

<strong>What if a simple day away could transform your life?</strong></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Does spending time with God sound like just one more thing to check
off an ever-increasing to-do list? How are you supposed to fit in
anything that threatens to be more time-consuming? Too often there’s
simply no room to experience the intimacy, grace, and peace that God
offers us.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<em>Getaway with God</em> does more than invite you to step away from
life’s pressures to take a personal retreat. It shows you exactly why
you must–for your sake and for your family’s.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
With grace and warmth, Letitia Suk provides step-by-step guidance and
the necessary tools to enable any woman on any budget to plan time
away, whether it’s a quick, half-day break or a weeklong time of
restoration. You’ll find detailed steps for preparation, including
descriptions of different kinds of retreats and how to choose the best
one for you, and you’ll learn ways to bring the renewal you experience
home with you. Practical appendixes identify retreat centers nationwide
and provide exercises and prayers to kick-start your getaway with God.</div>

No matter what your season in life, the time for retreat is now!</div>

This book is an easy read and has a lot of tips of how to make a way for one to actually spend more time with God. <span style="background: white; color: #333333; font-family: "arial" , sans-serif; font-size: 10.5pt; line-height: 107%;">The book starts out with a group of children going to a junior police academy program and learning how to be how detective. One of the boys finds an old skateboard and brings it class with him the next day. The children work together with the training detective to solve where the skateboard came from and how it ended up in the shed on the school property. While they begin the case of the skateboard, Detective Jeffries tells the children not to be “know-it-alls” about the case and he then asks them if they can think of an example of people being a “know-it-all”. One of the cadets speaks up and says that he thinks his neighbors are “know-it-alls” because they believe in God. Detective Jeffries says that Jason is being a “know-it-all” because he believes that there is no way that there is a God. Throughout the rest of the book the case of the skateboard and the case about God coincide with each other. As the cadets use the detective skills that they are learning to solve the skateboard case, they use those same skills to prove that God is real. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
In Service Tails: More Stories of Man’s Best Hero, prolific author Ace Collins introduces us to leaders whose entire lives are wrapped in the banner of service. Their stories are remarkable snapshots of the value of vision and teamwork, as well as devotion to duty and unconditional love and acceptance–stretching the way we see both canine and human potential. Their training was intense, their loyalty unquestioned and each step of the way they constantly adapt to better serve those they lead. These unforgettable dogs are more than heroes; they are models from which we can learn how to love and serve unconditionally.</div>

This was a completely different type of book from what I usually read, which is historical and Amish fiction. It was enjoyable and a light-hearted read. Sometimes hard to believe that some one could run into so much trouble. But of course it is fiction. </div>

"All Summer Long"</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Melody Carlson</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<b>She's ready to take on a new challenge. What she doesn't expect is an old flame.</b><br />Tia
D'Amico is thrilled to move to San Francisco to help her aunt transform
an old luxury yacht into an upscale floating restaurant. What's not to
love? Sunset dinner cruises, posh wedding receptions--the possibilities
are endless and far more appetizing than staying in a monotonous job in
her Podunk hometown. Besides, some of her best memories are tied to San
Francisco--especially the memory of Leo Parker, her crush from a
long-ago sailing camp.<br /><br />When Leo Parker himself turns out to be
the yacht's captain, Tia is floating on air. But will it all come
crashing down around her when she discovers his heart belongs to someone
else?<br /><br />Get ready for a romantic summer in San Francisco, where the future glistens brighter than the Bay at sunset.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;">
***********************************</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
While I was looking forward to reading another book by Melody Carlson, as I usually enjoy her books, this one I did not. From the description of the book, I was anticipating a fun, "San Fransisco vacation". Unfortunately, this book was anything but that. The description of the scenery was beautiful, but the rest of the book seemed more like a soap opera. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There were also instances where Tia and her friend (that is a girl) were joking as if they were more than friends. That is not appreciated nor welcomed here. I was raised that sin is sin and to make fun of sin is just as much of a sin than the sin you are making fun of. This ruined the whole book for me. Never would I expect to read such material in a "Christian" fiction novel. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I cannot recommend this book. </div>

hope, and a new beginning themselves?<br /><br /><b>Come home to Hope Harbor--where hearts heal . . . and love blooms</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>********************************</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
"Sea Rose Lane" is a sweet, charming read. Where small town people and big as life problems collide, this book has it all. You will be swept away by this darling little town of Hope Harbor, because the people are so delightful and genuine. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
At first, I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book, but I was proven wrong! The characters are so vivid and easy to relate to. I especially felt like I could relate to BJ, given her struggle with her weight and her love for the elderly. For once the heroine didn't just naturally have a Barbie figure, she had to work at being trim, just like the rest of us do. Most times in a book the girl has a perfect figure, perfect hair etc. and is unrealistic. I'm glad that Irene Hannon made BJ real! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Eric was a big sweetheart and a very understanding man. While his personality isn't the norm for men these days, it should be. I love how he reached out to Luis and tried his best to be the friend that Luis needed. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Luis' story broke my heart. What a devastating blow, but God wasn't done with him yet! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Charlie was also a favorite! I'm not a big seafood person. In fact, I don't like seafood at all, but the way Hannon wrote about those fish tacos, I was actually craving some! Charlie's insight was uncanny! Could he be an angel? :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Each and every character was unique and special. By reading Sea Rose Lane, I feel as if I'm a part of this charming, little town. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I highly recommend this book! You will not be disappointed if you read this novel and if you don't, you'll be missing out! It is book 2, but is also a stand alone novel. I didn't read book 1 and was not confused one bit by starting with book 2. </div>

"Faith" </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
She enlists the help of Colonel Devlin Knight, who himself, although a Union soldier, has a slave. Yet this slave is more of a friend than a slave.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Traveling east with Grant's army, Devlin and Faith fight their personal battles and a growing attraction to each other.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Can they put aside their personal differences and listen to their hearts?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*******************************************</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I enjoyed this book very much. I haven't read many "Quaker" books. This read by Lyn Cote offered a new aspect where you wouldn't think a Quaker would be involved with a war.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It offered many twists and turns, which kept things interesting. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
