This is the bulletin board I put up for the end of January and obviously for February.  It turned out a bit plainer than I envisioned it, but I still like it.

In case you can't read what the kisses say, from left to right "Peace", "Hope", "Faith", "Grace" and "Comfort".  All of these things God gives us when we trust in Him and they are sweet!

Want to make the kisses?
Here's what you'll need:
Hershey kiss template
thin cardboard pieces
cotton
hot glue gun/glue sticks
aluminum foil
tape
Here's what you do.
Print a template. Like the one here. (I copy and pasted it.  Then cropped and resized it on my computer.)
Trace on a thin piece of cardboard.  Then cut out.
Apply hot glue (hot glue gun) on the cardboard and hurry and pad cotton on it.
Cover with aluminum foil.  Tape in the back and there you go!
*The more wrinkled the aluminum foil, the more authentic it looks.

And there you go!
HAPPY WEEKEND!

(In July)

I know.  I know.  Y'all are probably thinking are they serious?  YES!  We are!  As you may have figured out by now we LOVE Christmas!

Have y'all started watching Christmas movies yet?  We did a couple of weeks ago.  Last night we watched Hallmark's Christmas Card.  One of their best I'd have to say.   I'm sure we'll watch another one tonight.  :)

On Sunday, we (Jr. Church & Children's Church) celebrated Christmas in July.  Fun!  We watched last years Christmas play.  The kids had fun watching themselves.  Some of them were embarrassed, but they had fun.  We also made Christmas and Let it Snow cupcakes.  How could we have a party and not have cupcakes, right?  Dixie and I had fun trying out all of the tips for the frosting, so if they look strange, that's why.   photo 05a793b3-3e82-47d6-903b-9ba7514f6250.jpg   photo c752ef48-8622-4582-a4f1-6819f8a4b59b.jpg

For our crafts, each of the kids drew an adults name and made them a Christmas craft.  I enjoyed watching and helping them make their crafts.  They really enjoyed making their crafts for the adults and did their best.  While they were making their crafts I played a Winter Wonderland DVD.  You know, the one's that show different snow scenes and play music.  Love it!  (Sometimes I just sit there and watch it, with a cup of tea or coffee of course.  So relaxing!)  When we were done, each kid took their craft to the adult they made it for.  I wish I could have taken pictures, but totally forgot.  :(

Are y'all going to celebrate Christmas in July?  Or are we the only crazy people that do that?  lol

Have a great day y'all!

Hey y'all,
Sorry about the lack of posts.  Life has been busy, our Mother has been sick and the computer was one the fritz for a while too.  Hopefully we'll get back in the swing of things around here.
These are some Peanut Butter Brownies I made for our Church's Homecoming.  They are my own creation!  I don't like just plain-Jane, ordinary brownies, to me they have to have nuts or something in them.  I'm strange, I know, but I'm o.k. with it.  Anyways, we didn't have any nuts, but we did have Reese's peanut butter chips!  Even better!  I made a regular fudge brownie mix, from the box.  Then I melted about 4 T. of peanut butter, mixed some very lightly into the batter, then cut the rest in with a knife, in an up-and down-swirl-like manner.  I then put them in the oven and prayed that they would turn out.  Because I mixed the pb in the batter, I was concerned it would change the way that they baked.  While checking on the brownies, I noticed the pb that I mixed in was still liquidy, but then realized it would harden once they cooled.  (which they did!)
After I took the brownies out, I sprinkled the Reese's Peanut Butter chips all over, then sprinkled Oreo cookie crumbs, (but you couldn't really taste them) and drizzled chocolate syrup over them.
Before I serve anything I make, I always taste it first.  I am not about to serve something that's going to be spat out of people's mouths.  The finished product?  DELISH!!!!!!!!!!!!  They were a hit!  There wasn't one left!  My Dad was disappointed because he didn't get more before they were all gone.
So I will definitely be making these again!  One lady at our Church said she almost took the pan to her seat so she could eat them all.
If you try these, let me know how they turn out!
Have a great weekend!

Hey y'all,
We trust everyone had a great Easter.  We sure did, even though it was one of the gloomiest Easter's (weather wise -rained all day), we ever remember.  But, the non-gloomy part was remembering what Easter is all about...Jesus' Resurrection!
God blessed us with a great day at Church.  Since it rained, we had to have our Easter Egg Hunt, with the youth, in the Fellowship Hall.  Not as exciting as outside, but it was fun!
We then went to a Family Reunion!  Those are always fun!  We were a little late though, like 1 1/2 hrs. late, but there was still food left!  That never happens!  :)
That night we went back to Church and had the Lord's Supper, as well as our regular Church service.

How was your Easter?

Changing the subject.....
We're going to start up our "Truly Blessed Tuesday's" again.  We are, however, going to make some changes.  Each week we will list 5 things that we're thankful for and they will all start with the same letter.
EXAMPLE:  "H": Heaven, hair, health, happiness, home.
Some weeks we may change it up a bit, but you get the idea.

We would love for you to join us.  You can either write a post about it and link up, or leave your list in a comment.
Please spread the word!  Let's all count our blessings together and praise the Lord for them! :)
Here is our "Truly Blessed Tuesdays" button:

Hope y'all have a great day!

Hey y'all!

Have a good weekend?  Do anything special?  We didn't do anything out of the ordinary, but tomorrow we're going CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!  Cannot wait!  After we vote of course.
This year I'm actually doing pretty good on my presents for everyone.  I usually just by things here and there and then get everything else at the last minute.  I'll probably still have some last minute shopping to do, but not the bulk of it.  I love everything that I have bought so far.  Dixie says my personality comes out in my gifts.  Hopefully, that's a good thing. :)

Well, here is a picture of our Church bulletin I put up a few weeks ago.  It's not exactly what I had pictured in my mind, but this is how it turned out.  Not too bad, if I do say so myself...and I do! :)  There is also a picture of the flowers our Mother arranged for our Church.  Aren't they perty?

Sorry if the pictures aren't that great. :(

Have a great day!

MERRY CHRISTMAS IN JULY!!!!!!!!!
If you know Dixie n me, then you know that it is never to early for anything Christmas.  We listen to Christmas music, watch Christmas movies, go Christmas shopping, anything Christmas YEAR ROUND!  Seriously, we are Christmas crazy!  :)

So then it should come as no surprise when you hear what we did at Church yesterday.  We had Christmas ALL DAY!  I wore red, white n black with a red n white striped head band, candy cane earrings, and a Christmas lights necklace.  Dixie wore black n white with "James Penguin" earrings.  (I LOVE that song!)

We sang Christmas songs in Sunday School and Jr. Church.  We also exchanged gifts during Sunday School and they were appropriately wrapped in red n green! :)

I made these festive cupcakes and used the adorable cupcake papers below. (notice the polka dots?) :)

We had a tree decorating contest, but first we had to find all of the decorations.  The Blue n Green team won at finding the decorations.  The Red n Yellow team (mine n Dixie's team) won for the best decorated tree!

We also painted Christmas ornaments for our craft!

If by some chance you are still reading, even if you think we are totally nuts, let us know something you love about Christmas!  :)  After all, it is "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!"

Our Mother made these darling Easter baskets for the kids and some ladies at our Church.  Aren't they adorable?  Dixie wrote the names all fancy like and our oldest sister helped cut them out.  I helped stuff them.  :)  What?  That's the fun part!

THESE ARE SOME EASTER DECORATIONS WE PUT UP AT CHURCH.

February 28, 2012

I get to do the bulletin board at my Church.  I enjoy doing it!  Sometimes it can be a challenge trying to think of something to put on it.  I try to change it every month.  This is what I did this month!  No, I'm not giving up on snow, but I thought this was very fitting and very true!  God is so creative and beautiful, isn't He?

My Mother made the cute little bee and the grass.  My Dad helped me with the letters and helped me put them up.  My sister provided the pipe cleaner and my brother gave me the verse I was looking for.  I made the flowers out of tissue paper and pipe cleaner.  I am so blessed to have a family that is always willing to help me!
