Filled with action, intrigue and suspense, this book is a keeper!   It had me guessing up until the very end.  These are the best kind of books.  

The characters are very likable and will stick with you, as if you really know them.  Even though there are a lot more characters in this book to keep up with than usual, Dani Pettrey has a way making them their own, unique person, with their own unique story.  The romance that blooms in this book is lovely.  It wasn't a frustrated one, where they know they have feelings for each other, but for some reason think they need to resist sharing those feelings.  The relationship between Griffin and Finley was perfect!  

I love how each person has already established trust in God.  Numerous times throughout the book they had heartfelt prayers, not just a few uttered words to God here and there.  Yes, they have issues that they struggled with, but they allowed God to help them deal with them accordingly. 

Wow!  I'm so glad that I was able to review this book.  I have been wanting to read Dani Pettrey for a long time, but haven't had the opportunity.  She is definitely an author I will read from again!  I love her style of writing.  I cannot wait until the next book comes out.

"Taken"

Dee Henderson

Abducted at the age of sixteen, Shannon Bliss was held captive for eleven years.  Shannon was finally able to escape her kidnappers.  She has chosen Matthew Dane to help her take care of some unfinished business and re-acclimate her back into society, as well as rejoin her family.  

Matthew, a retired cop, has had personal experience with this difficult task, through the experience of his own daughter's kidnapping.  

Shannon seems to have an amazing grip on her emotions keeping them locked away and only allowing tiny bits at a time to emerge.  This has Matthew puzzled and concerned.  He wonders when these carefully locked up emotions will burst out.  

Shannon contains information about the family that held her hostage and wants them brought to justice.  Her abductors believe Shannon to be dead and she must be kept out of the press.  A difficult thing to do, considering her brother is running for governor.  

Matthew is trying to unravel the facts behind Shannon's disappearance and the trail is leading to a member of Shannon's family.

Not having Dee Henderson's previous books "Unspoken" & "Full Disclosure", I was lost in regards to some of the characters.  I would recommend reading them before you read "Taken".

"No Place to Hide"

O my goodness!  Lynette Eason is now one of my favorite authors.  This book was like being on a roller-coaster, non-stop adventure!  Where as most of the time the whole book being about a chase would get dull and monotonous, this one did not.  I was intrigued from the first page till the last one.  

Although, at times I was a bit confused about all of the different characters.  The story seemed to jump back and forth between so many people I couldn't keep up.  But they all tied together in the end.  

This book is for all of those who love Christian suspense with a little bit of romance thrown in there.  I will definitely read more of Lynette Eason's books!

"Hidden Agenda"

Olivia Hamilton is a reporter and likes her job until she starts receiving anonymous emails about Antonio Valez and his connection to the drug cartel. Olivia does not want to believe the messages because Antonio Valez is her father. She is not sure what she should do, but like every good reporter she knows she has to get to the truth. While Olivia is contemplating what she should do her brother, Ivan, witnesses a murder and knows that somebody else is going to be killed in the next twelve hours. Ivan goes to Olivia to tell her what he has just seen and asks for help in freeing the other man. Olivia is hesitant about this and just wants to protect her brother and get him as far away as possible. Ivan does convince Olivia to help him rescue the other man and as the three are trying to make their escape, they are thrust into more danger than they could have ever imagined.

With danger around every corner, secrets and lies that have been kept through the years are beginning to be revealed. But is knowing the truth really the best thing for everyone involved?

Hidden Agenda is a very exciting book. I could not put it down until I was finished reading it. Lisa Harris has once again captured my attention. This book is filled with adventure, mystery, and romance. I strongly recommend reading the entire Southern Crimes series by Lisa Harris.

"At Bluebonnet Lake"

Kate Sherwood, a busy marketing woman, takes her grandma on vacation to a place in Texas Hill Country where her grandparents went many years ago.   She can't wait to see this beautiful part of the country as grandma has described it so well.  But when they get there it is nothing like her grandmother described.  It's quite the opposite.  Her grandmother doesn't mind though, she still sees it how she remembers it.  

While trying to adjust her vacation situation and being with out any cell phone or internet service, she runs into the handyman, Greg.  Well, she thinks he's the handyman.  She later learns that he's not the handyman, but is fixing the place up on his own.  Kate figure out why he is doing this and not care about getting paid.  

Greg has enjoyed his peaceful stay at Rainbow's End and has been being the "handyman".  What he enjoys even more is spending time with Kate.  They strike up a friendship and he wonders if it could ever be more than just a friendship.  

Kate went to Rainbow's End as a favor to her sick grandmother.  She isn't used to the extremely, slow-pace of Texas, but she learns to adjust and actually starts to like it.  But her dream of becoming a partner at her firm still has priority in her life.  When she gets the opportunity of a lifetime to write a campaign for a big agent, she must leave Rainbow's End for a couple days to give them her pitch.  Then her grandmother takes a turn for the worst and dreams don't seem all that important anymore.  

Kate must get her priorities straight.  Greg, has some baggage he has to deal with as well.  Will they overcome these obstacles and realize they're meant to be together?  Kate doesn't know what she'll do if anything ever happened to her grandmother.  Now she feels responsible for her recent condition and doesn't know if her grandma will make it.

This book was very enjoyable.  Although I expected it to be more a western than it was, I still liked it.   Reading "At Bluebonnet Lake" was like being on a vacation, as of course, they were in the book.  At times it was a bit slow-paced for me, but that's how vacations go sometimes.  The characters were well written and Rainbow's End was described so vividly, I could picture it and felt as if I was there.  Can't wait till book two comes out.

"In Perfect Time"

Army Air Force flight nurse, Lt. Kay Jobson, is beautiful and sophisticated.  She dates a different man each day of the week just for fun.  She collects hearts wherever she flies, leaving men pining in airfields all across Europe.

Having been hurt and made fun of by her family when younger, she does this as a method to not being hurt again.  But in doing so, she earns herself a reputation as a flit and a tease, which gets her into trouble.  She meets Lt.. Roger Copper, who gives her a Bible in reply to some questions Kay asks him.  Kay turns her lifer over the Lord but can she erase her reputation and earn a new one?  

How does Lt. Cooper fit into all of this?  What about his past?  Can they accept the fact the Lord forgives and forgets?

I enjoyed this book.  Sarah Sundin provides a history lesson without the reader even being aware of it.  She makes history interesting.  I did not care for somethings that happened to Kay, but I suppose the author was teaching a moral lesson as well.

This book started off very interesting, but somewhere along the way I lost interest.  There were things in this book I did not enjoy reading about (like the crude way the men would look and treat the women, so I did not finish the book.
