Her One and Only
"Her One and Only"
Becky Wade

After ten years in the NFL, super star Gray Fowler is accustomed to obsessive fans.
But when Gray starts receiving death threats from a stalker, his team hires an executive protection agency to guard him until the culprit is caught. Dealing with bodyguards 24/7 is a headache, especially when one of them is a young, beautiful woman. How can a female half his size possibly protect him better than he can protect himself?
Dru Porter is a former Marine, an expert markswoman, and a black belt–none of which saved her from disaster on her last assignment. In order to rebuild her tarnished reputation, she’s determined to find Gray’s stalker and, since relationships between agents and clients are forbidden, avoid a romantic attachment between herself and the rugged football player with the mysterious past.
Yet every secret that leads Dru closer to the stalker also draws her closer to Gray. As the danger escalates, they’ll survive only if they can learn to trust their lives—and their hearts—to one another.

This is the second book I've read by Becky Wade and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed it!  I liked this story more than the last one in this series (the only two I've been able to read).  It captured my attention from page one and didn't let go!

At first, I wasn't sure if I was going to like the characters or not (Dru and Gray), but they grew on me.  Dru was easier to like than Gray was.  He was a bit full of himself, which was expected.  While reading there story, I found myself wondering what was going on with Meg and her twins and anxiously awaiting any news.  The two stories intertwined wonderfully.

However, there was some language that I didn't appreciate.  I still don't understand why Christian authors insist on adding unnecessary "colorful" words to Christian books.

"Her One and Only" is a romantic/suspense-filled Christian fiction that any romance reader and suspense lover will enjoy!

A Love Like Ours
"A Love Like Ours"
Becky Wade

Former Marine Jake Porter has far deeper scars than the one that marks his face. He struggles with symptoms of PTSD, lives a solitary life, and avoids relationships.
When Lyndie James, Jake’s childhood best friend, lands back in Holley, Texas, Jake cautiously hires her to exercise his Thoroughbreds. Lyndie is tender-hearted, fiercely determined, and afraid of nothing, just like she was as a child. Jake pairs her with Silver Leaf, a horse full of promise but lacking in results, hoping she can solve the mystery of the stallion’s reluctance to run.
Though Jake and Lyndie have grown into very different adults, the bond that existed during their childhood still ties them together. Against Jake’s will, Lyndie’s sparkling, optimistic personality begins to tear down the walls he’s built around his heart. A glimmer of the hope he’d thought he’d lost returns, but fears and regrets still plague him. Will Jake ever be able to love Lyndie like she deserves, or is his heart too shattered to mend?

This was my first time reading a Becky Wade novel, but hopefully not my last.  She has an enjoyable writing style that is uniquely her own.  She makes the characters and their stories so real, that you feel that you actually know them and are pained by the trials they're facing and rejoice with the good things.

Lyndie and her family have not had it easy, but they still believe and know that God is good.  I love that!  I love that Becky Wade writes in such a way that her readers can relate to.  Yes, we all have different trials and face a variety of different things, but God is good.  That is something that we all need to remember through the good times and the bad.

This book is a keeper!  Now I'm going to hunt down the first two and read them!
