Jennifer Burns is tired of the modern world and longs for a simple life.  She has been intrigued with the Amish world since a young girl.  

Now in her 20's, she decides to leave family and friends and join the Plain People.  But first she must prove herself worthy.  

While living with the Lapp family to learn how to be Amish, she discovers that Rebecca Lapp has a secret.  One that could bring down the wrath of her husband and the Bishop.

If she joins the Church she would have to answer questions that would expose Rebecca.

I enjoy Beverly Lewis' books.  This one has an unexpected twist to it, in the fact that you have an English girl wanting to turn plain, instead of the usual Plain wanting to be modern.  

I couldn't put the book down until I found out Jennifer's decision.
