"The River Queen"

Julieanne Ashley is a spoiled Southern Belle whose family loses their fortune and family home to financial carelessness because of her father and the family's pride and greed.   Their one remaining possession is an old dilapidated steamboat which becomes their means for financial support and home.

When their "friends" won't speak to them because they lost their wealth; Julieanne is determined to restore the family's good name.  She makes a poor business decision when she accepts a loan for $10,000 from a crafty man who owns the Columbia Lady.  He convinces Julia to let him refurbish the River Queen and she agrees.  but Mr. Dennison has an ulterior motive.  He wants to own the River Queen.

What will happen?  Will the Ashley's lose their home again?

I liked most of this book.  The main thing was good, but it contained parts which I didn't enjoy when things became too blunt or graphic.
